Join us at Bridge Street Books for an evening with local author Mark Batey.

Mark will be talking about his writing, his journey from a career in the UK film industry to becoming an author, and the inspiration behind his tense, fast-paced thrillers Scream of a Rose and Final Harbour.

His novels explore espionage, conspiracy and international intrigue, with stories that move between the UK and Europe and are shaped by today’s shifting geopolitical world. With scenes set in places including Northumberland, Russia and Malta, they combine high-stakes action with very human stories.

Mark was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne and now divides his time between Northumberland and London. Before turning to thrillers, he also wrote about notable figures from North-East history, including Grace Darling.
